JOHN'S '56 CHEVY BELAIR 2 DOOR SEDAN

"I have owned my 1956 Chevrolet Belair since 1978 (46 years). I bought it from the second owner. The body was in rough shape, but the interior was in decent condition. The seats had seat covers on them from the Dealership (Henderson Chevrolet in Stratford) in 1956. When I removed the seat covers the seats were dirty but in good condition. I spent time getting some parts re-chromed, some parts polished, and other parts replaced with some NOS parts. I removed the front nose, pulled the engine and sand blasted the front-end frame, suspension, firewall, etc. I rebuilt the front-end suspension and the entire brake system. Don Scinto Automotive rebuilt the 283 cubic inch engine. It has the original power-glide in it. The odometer has its original mileage on it, just past the 58,000 mile mark. I have driven it as far south as Cherry Hill, NJ and as far north as Springfield, MA. Over the years I have taken it to various car shows and cruise nights. I have named my 56 “Plain-Jane” because it does not sport many options. The only option on it is the chrome tailpipe extension. The car has been repainted to the original colors, Dawn Grey and Indian Ivory. Now that I am retired, I hope to add a few options to my 56, such as fender birds and a tissue dispenser. I enjoy this Chevy 2-door Belair."

'57 CHEVY 210 HANDYMAN WAGON

I have owned this 1957 Chevy 210 2-door Handyman station wagon for many years. I was fortunate to have bought it from the original owner. It originally had a six cylinder with a three-on-the-tree transmission. I swapped out the engine, trans and original rear with a 350 ci engine, Turbo 350 trans and 4.88 posi rear. In more recent years the engine and rearend have been replaced with a Chevrolet Performance ZZ6 Crate Engine, Edelbrock high rise intake manifold, Holley 670 cfm carburetor, MSD Ignition, Turbo 350 trans with a trans-brake, and Moser 12-bolt Chevy rear.  Also, it has 10-inch-wide M/T slicks with skinnies on the front.  A lot of the recent conversion work has been done by Wayne Jones Performance Engineering in Danbury, CT.  My twin brother Joe, a friend from high school Mark Hozan, and myself have been taking it to Lebanon Valley Dragway.  The best times so far have been 12.4’s seconds ET at 108 mph.  It has been fun, to relive my teen age years of drag racing.
